Rentech has nearly 30 years of operating experience with its technologies proven at demonstration and commercial scales. We operate the only synthetic jet and diesel transportation fuels facility in the U.S. and our technologies produce the only alternative jet fuel that is ASTM-certified for commercial aviation. Our diesel meets ASTM D-975 specs and has been tested by Walker Caterpillar, Norfolk Southern Locomotive and the U.S. Military.
Rentech’s technologies produce biodegradable ultra-clean certified drop-in fuels that can be used in existing engines and infrastructures. RenJet® and RenDiesel® are virtually sulfur and aromatic free and have lower carbon footprints and lower regulated emissions of NOx, SOx, VOCs and particulates than traditional petroleum-derived fuels. RenJet® has density and higher energy content than traditional jet fuel and RenDiesel® has a higher cetane index than traditional diesel.
Our first commercial-scale project is expected to come-on line in late 2012. The project, located in Rialto, California, is anticipated to the first-of-its-kind in the U.S., turning green waste into renewable energy. The Rialto Project will produce approximately 640 daily barrels of renewable synthetic fuels and 35 megawatts of renewable electric power. An unprecedented multi-year agreement has been signed with Aircraft Service International Group (ASIG) to supply eight airlines with up to 1.5 million gallons per year of RenDiesel® from this project for ground service equipment operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The purchasers under the agreement are Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, UPS Airlines and US Airways. The Rialto Project will create approximately 250 construction jobs and 70 full-time positions once the plant is operating.
We are also developing a larger-scale clean fossil project in Mississippi for the production of approximately 30,000 barrels per day of ultra-clean synthetic jet fuel and 120 megawatts of clean power. Recently we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with thirteen domestic and international passenger and cargo carriers that is intended to serve as a framework for a future definitive supply agreement for approximately 18,000 barrels per day of certified jet fuel from this project. The agreement signed by Rentech and Air Canada, AirTran Airways, American Airlines, Atlas Air, Delta Air Lines, FedEx Express, JetBlue Airways, Lufthansa German Airlines, Mexicana Airlines, Polar Air Cargo, United Airlines, UPS Airlines and US Airways represents a significant step forward for this project and the airlines commitment to contribute to the creation of green jobs, and promotion of energy security through economically viable alternatives that also demonstrate environmental benefits. A recent economic impact study completed by Alcorn State University concluded that the Natchez Project would create over 2,100 direct jobs and over 3,400 indirect jobs during the project’s construction phase. Once operational, the facility is expected to create over 400 high paying direct jobs and over 3,200 indirect jobs according to the study.

Why Choose the U.S. Virgin Islands?
So close yet so far away from civilization. That’s the feeling you’ll have while visiting
the islands located in the eastern Caribbean, just 1,100 miles southeast of Miami. Surrounded by clear blue waters of the Caribbean, our average temperature ranges from 77 degrees F in the winter to 83 degrees F in the summer.
